A conception is a blanket compilation of information and coherences for a major project or for extensive planning.
The screenplay is the written illustration of a possible motion picture.
manufactoring process of a motion picture
Video-Postprocessing:
- cutting the raw material
- adding visual effects
- changing the tinge of the film material (colour correction)
- adding opening credits and end titles
Audio-Postprocessing:
- editing the original tone and background noise
- synchronal recording
- recording and editing of foleys (sound / noise)
- sounddesign: adding of foleys (sound / noise), generating synthetic
sounds,
creating background sounds and sound effects in general
- compositon, recording, editing and adding the soundtrack
- tonal mixing
Graphics:
- computer-graphic: artifical creation of pictures by using computers
- 3D computer-graphic: deals as well the draft and the description
of the scene (shaping)
as also with the creation of a picture/image or film/video out of
this scene (rendering).
Design: composition or draft/layout of objects
Animation: in narrower sense this describes
every technical method for creating movement in a film/video from
detail screens (single images).
These detail screens may be drawn, computer generated or photographs. Playing back these with 24 images per second creates the illusion of movement at the viewer.
DVD-authoring/coding: on the one hand the authoring focuses on the
encoding, means it focuses on the process where by the film- and audio-contents
are transformed according to the established standards. On the other
hand a main focus is the preparation of contents for the consumer.
This means the design of interactive menus and the corresponding per
case coding enabling the user to navigate throught the content of
a DVD in a easy way.
Characteristic for a video-DVD is the possibility to consume the same
audio-visual content (for example a film) from different perspectives
(multi-angel-view) with different sound tracks (multi-language) and
diverse sub-titles.
DVD-authoring also includes the preset of the regional-code (national code) and primarily applying the copy-protection. During this process not the copy-protection itself is beeing applied but only the information which parts of the DVD shall be protected.
is a short motion picture showing the agitation of a company in a positive way. A corporate video has typically a length of no longer then 10 minutes.
The process of producing a cinema-, advertising- or television-film.
Sounddesign is the creativ working with tones and sounds/noises. In the post-processing of motion pictures this is meant to be the creative work on all acoustic elements apart from the music, in detail these are the dialogue and sounds/noises including background noise. Partly these acoustic elements are recorded new but more and more pre-made soundrecordings from digital audio-workstations stored in databases are used, recutted and reassambled. Like that is is possible to use for example monk-singing for the sound of a spaceship or gibon-roar for the siren of a future police car.
Colour correction is the process of correting a colour cast in photographic pictures.
A preview to a motion picture, a computer game or the like.
Within image- and video-editing:
A possible to alienate, manipulate and modify pictures or videos.
For image editing there exist graphic filters. In the field of video-processing
this is also called visual effects.
A storyboard is a drawn Version of a screenplay or a visualisation
of a concept or a idea. Storyboards are used for visualisation of
screenplays and planning of single film scenes by sketchly illustration
before the real filming starts.
Mainly storyboards are used for the following medias: (cinema-) movies, in particular with following necessary post-processing by computer and during the preparation of complex, resource-intensive sequences.
but also stage shows, concerts, musicals, etc.; just every production which is very complex and expensive. Storyboards are also a important planning assistance for producing radio transmissions.
